When people think of Mariposas, they usually think of cakes, treats, party setups, and homemade recipes.

But behind the brand is something much bigger.

It's about creating.

Sometimes that means baking bread from scratch. Sometimes it's decorating a cake. Sometimes it's learning how to make homemade cheese, candies, fresh drinks, and new recipes.

And sometimes it means stepping away from the kitchen entirely and picking up a can of spray paint.

Recently, we started working on a galaxy-themed canvas as a family project. While I did most of the actual spray painting, the design itself was something we created together. The kids helped choose colors, planets, and ideas, making it a project that belonged to all of us.

At first glance, it may look like a collection of colorful planets floating through space.

But to us, it's much more than that.

More Than a Painting

Each planet on this canvas represents a member of our family.

Some planets are larger. Some are smaller. Some are bright and bold, while others are softer and more subtle. Just like people, every planet is unique.

Each one has its own colors, personality, and place in the galaxy.

Even though every planet is different, they're all connected and part of the same universe.

That's what family feels like to us.

We each have our own interests, strengths, dreams, and challenges, but we're connected through love, support, and the memories we create together.

Why Creativity Matters

Creativity teaches us patience.

It teaches us that mistakes can become part of the design.

It reminds us that not everything has to be perfect to be beautiful.

Whether we're decorating cakes, planning parties, baking cookies, creating treats, or painting planets, every project starts the same way—with an idea and the courage to try.

Some projects turn out exactly as planned.

Others take unexpected turns.

Both are part of the journey.

More Than Just a Business

Mariposas was built on the idea of transformation.

The butterfly in our logo represents growth, change, and becoming something beautiful through life's challenges.

Just like a butterfly transforms over time, we believe people grow when they learn new skills, try new things, and allow themselves the freedom to create.

Every recipe we test, every cake we decorate, every event we help celebrate, and every project we attempt teaches us something valuable.

Sometimes the lesson is success.

Sometimes the lesson is simply trying again.

Both are worth celebrating.

A Work in Progress

This canvas isn't finished yet.

We still plan to add a glossy finish that will help protect the artwork, deepen the colors, and give the planets and stars a beautiful shine.

In many ways, that's exactly what this piece represents.

Our family isn't finished growing.

Our story is still being written.

Just like this canvas, we're constantly learning, evolving, and creating new memories together.

Years from now, we may not remember every detail of this project, but we'll remember the conversations, the laughter, the planning, and the excitement of bringing an idea to life together.

And that's what Mariposas is truly about.

Not just cakes.

Not just treats.

Not just parties.

But family, creativity, growth, and creating memories that last a lifetime.
