🦋 The Meaning Behind Mariposas

Hi, my name is Maria.

I’m a mother of three, originally from Texas and now living in Virginia. My journey hasn’t been easy—but it has shaped who I am today and the meaning behind everything I create.

Where It Started

Growing up, I didn’t always feel safe or supported. I experienced things no child should ever have to go through. At a young age, I made the decision to speak up and choose a different path for my life.

At 16, I stepped out on my own. I finished high school, began cosmetology, and became a mother soon after.

My first daughter—my Sunshine—became my light during one of the hardest times in my life. She gave me purpose when I needed it most.

I was pregnant with her when my adoptive father passed away back in Texas. I remember feeling far away, lost, and unsure of what I was supposed to feel. There were so many emotions at once—confusion, pain, and things I didn’t even know how to process.

But even in that moment, life was moving forward—and so was I.

What I Went Through

As I continued growing, I faced more challenges:

• Difficult relationships
• Emotional and physical struggles
• Custody battles
• Heartbreak
• The loss of a pregnancy

There were moments I felt lost, overwhelmed, and alone.

But through everything…
I kept going.

The Meaning Behind Mariposas

Every hardship became part of my transformation.

That’s where Mariposas comes from.

The semicolon in my logo represents a moment where a sentence could have ended—but didn’t.
It stands for choosing to continue, even when life feels heavy.

The butterfly represents transformation—because just like a butterfly, we go through dark and difficult stages before becoming something new, something stronger, something beautiful.

A Little Piece of Me 🦋

The name Mariposas also holds a deeper, personal meaning.

“Mari” comes from my name, Maria.
“Posas” comes from the beginning of my last name, Poblano.

So in a way, Mariposas isn’t just about butterflies—it’s a piece of who I am and everything I’m building.

Where I Am Now

Most of what I’ve created so far has been for my own family—my kids, their birthdays, and our special moments.

But this… this is me branching out.

Mariposas is me stepping into something bigger—turning my story, my pain, and my growth into something meaningful I can share with others.

Every cake, every setup, every detail I create is made with intention, love, and heart.
